Waste Disposal: FREE PUBLIC DUMP POINT available for the disposal of grey and black water.
Potable Water: Fresh drinking water is provided at the site for refilling RV tanks.
Camping: Self-contained vehicles are permitted to stay in the grounds for up to 72 hours (free or by donation). Note that vehicles must be fully self-contained as there are no public toilet or shower facilities available for campers.
Museum Highlights:
Display: Features a rotating collection of over 160 special cars, motorbikes, and auto memorabilia.
Model World: Houses an extensive exhibition of around 3,500 models, from vintage cars to heavy machinery.
History: The museum is located in "The Maffra Shed," a historic 2200sqm industrial building used as a vegetable de-hydrating factory during WWII.
Access: The dump point is accessible 24 hours a day, while the museum itself is typically open Friday to Monday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (and daily during school holidays).
The dump point is located within the grounds of the Gippsland Vehicle Collection, situated on the eastern side of the Maffra township.
Main Access: From Sale, follow the Maffra-Sale Road (C439) toward Maffra.
Entrance: The museum is located on the southern side of the road. Look for the large "Maffra Shed" building as you approach the town.
On-Site: The dump point is positioned within the expansive grounds. Follow internal signage or look for the service unit near the large vehicle parking area.
Navigation: The site is level and very spacious, providing easy access and plenty of turning room for large motorhomes and caravans.
Note: This is one of two public dump points in the township. For a location closer to the town center, there is another free public dump point and 48-hour RV stop located at the Maffra RV Park (187 Johnson Street).
