RV Dump Point: Green Hill Lake Reserve

The dump point at Green Hill Lake is a well-maintained, free public facility provided by the Green Hill Lake Development Board. It is highly regarded by the caravanning community for its ease of access and the quality of the surrounding reserve.

How to Find the Dump Location

The dump point is located approximately 4km east of the Ararat township within the Green Hill Lake Reserve.

1. Entrance: Turn off the Western Highway onto Green Hill Lake Road.

2. The Drive-In: Follow the road into the recreation area. You will pass the first amenities block (which contains the hot showers) and the playground area.

3. Specific Spot: Continue along the road toward the far side of the lake. The dump point is located near the second (top) amenities block.

4. Visual Cue: It is situated outside the toilet block, near the end of the dirt track. Look for the standard blue RV dump point signage.

Facilities & Amenities

• Cost: Free (though a $5 donation per night for staying at the reserve is requested to help with maintenance).

• Water: Potable (drinking) water is available at the dump point for rinsing and tank refills. There are also multiple taps located throughout the campground.

• Access: * Open 24 hours.

  • Suitable for all vehicle sizes, including large "big rig" motorhomes and fifth-wheelers.

  • Sealed road access leading into the reserve, with hard-packed dirt roads surrounding the dump point itself.

• Reserve Facilities:

  • Showers: Hot showers available in the first toilet block ($2 coins required for 4 minutes).

  • Toilets: Flushing toilets available at both amenities blocks.

  • Bins: Rubbish and recycling skips are provided.

  • Connectivity: Strong Telstra 4G/5G mobile coverage.

  • Recreation: Gas BBQs, picnic pavilions, fire pits (seasonal), boat ramps, and a concrete walking track that leads all the way into Ararat.

Important Notes

• Do not empty chemical toilets into the standard flushing toilets; always use the designated dump point at the top block.
