Dump Point: This is a free public dump point. It is a council-maintained facility provided as part of Portland's "RV Friendly Town" accreditation.
Vehicle Access: Excellent. The site is located within a large, level grassed and gravel area designed for heavy vehicle use. It is highly accessible for big rigs, fifth-wheelers, and long caravans.
Potable Water: Drinking water is available at a dedicated tap near the dump point and between the visitor information centre car park and the bus park.
Overnight Camping: Free 48-hour camping is permitted at Henty Park for fully self-contained vehicles only (No shower/toilet = No stay). No tents or swags allowed.
Amenities: Public toilets and bins are located on-site. The Portland Leisure and Aquatic Centre is directly adjacent for those wishing to use hot showers (fees apply).
Pet Friendly: Dogs are permitted on a lead. There is a sports oval right next door providing ample space for exercise.
Proximity: Centrally located within walking distance to the Portland Marina, local supermarkets (Woolworths and ALDI), and the historic Botanic Gardens.
The dump point is located in the Henty Park recreation precinct, which sits between the Henty Highway and the foreshore.
From the Henty Highway (A101): As you enter Portland, the highway becomes Henty Street.
Turn Left: Turn left onto Bentinck Street.
Arrival: Look for the Portland Cable Tram Museum. The entrance to the Henty Park RV area is located directly behind the museum building.
Locating the Dump Point: The Free Public Dump Point is situated near the public toilet block within the RV camping area, clearly marked with blue and white signage.
