Peachtree Creek Camping, Tamboon Inlet, Croajingolong VIC

Location Information

Peachtree Creek Reserve Campground offers a remote and tranquil escape for nature lovers and fishing enthusiasts in the heart of Far East Gippsland. Tucked away on the eastern shore of the magnificent Tamboon Inlet and adjacent to the world-renowned Croajingolong National Park, this small campground is a true bush retreat. The journey in, via the unsealed Fishermans Track, sets the tone for a secluded adventure where the wilderness takes centre stage. The campground itself is nestled where the Cann River fans out into the inlet, creating a rich estuarine environment that is a haven for birdlife and a paradise for anglers. This is a destination for those looking to disconnect from the hustle and bustle and immerse themselves in a pristine natural setting.

As a remote national park campground, self-sufficiency is key. While basic facilities like non-flush toilets and fireplaces are provided, campers must bring their own drinking water and firewood. The 11 unpowered campsites are suitable for a range of setups, from tents to campervans and caravans, but access is weather-dependent. The main attraction here is the water. A boat ramp and jetty provide direct access to Tamboon Inlet, a vast and beautiful waterway perfect for boating, kayaking, and chasing species like bream and flathead. While there is no direct vehicle or walking access to the ocean beach from the campground, exploring the inlet’s many arms and islands by boat is an adventure in itself. Bookings are required year-round for this popular spot, ensuring a peaceful experience for all who make the journey.
