4.0 stars (based on user reviews)

Corringle Slips Foreshore Reserve is a classic East Gippsland camping destination, perfectly positioned where the legendary Snowy River meets the sea. Located directly opposite the charming coastal town of Marlo, this popular campground offers a fantastic blend of sheltered estuary access and wild ocean beaches. Nestled within a beautiful banksia woodland, the reserve provides a serene and natural setting for a memorable coastal getaway. It’s a place of significant cultural importance for the Gunaikurnai people, who have long used the area for gatherings, fishing, and connecting with Country.

This campground is a haven for boating and fishing enthusiasts. With its own boat ramp and jetties, it provides direct access to the calm, protected waters of the Snowy River estuary, which is renowned for its excellent fishing year-round. A short walk from the campground takes you across the dunes to the vast expanse of Bass Strait for those keen to try their hand at surf fishing. The campground itself offers a traditional bush camping experience with basic but essential facilities, including non-flush toilets and picnic areas. Sites are unpowered and fees apply, with a self-registration system in place. During peak holiday periods like Christmas and Easter, a ballot system is used to allocate sites due to the area’s popularity. A major drawcard for many visitors is that the campground is dog-friendly, allowing the whole family to enjoy a holiday together. For a quiet coastal escape that’s rich in nature and perfect for water-based activities, Corringle Slips is an unbeatable choice.
