How to identify an SA Paid Station

  1. The Blue Box: Look for a blue, knee-height metal box with a white plastic grate on top.

  2. The Interface:

    • Coin-Op: Has a slot for $1 or 20c coins. Usually dispenses ~20 Litres per $1.

    • Card-Op: Has a "Tap & Go" reader. Usually charges a flat fee for a timed flow (e.g., $5 for 10 minutes).

  3. The Connector: These paid stations almost always have a 25mm (1 inch) thread. Standard garden hose connectors are 20mm (3/4 inch). You must carry a 25mm-to-20mm reducer adaptor (plastic or brass) to connect your hose, or you won't be able to fill up.
