Important for RVs: * "Hydration Station" / "Bottle Fill": These are usually filtered bubblers. You can fill a jerry can here, but cannot connect a hose to fill a tank.
"Standpipe" / "RV Fill": These are high-flow taps where you can connect a hose.
"Blue Hydrants" (Wannon Water Region): in the South West, look for metered hydrants painted blue. These are specifically designated for public potable use.

Since tap locations can be hard to spot from the road, use these visual cues:
The "Separation" Rule (Dump Points): * Most public dump points have two taps.
The Dirty Tap: Usually directly on the dump point unit, often with no thread or a short hose. DO NOT USE.
The Clean Tap: Usually located 2–5 meters away from the dump point (on a separate post or fence). This is the potable one.
Blue Marking (Wannon Water Region):
In South West Victoria (Warrnambool, Portland, Hamilton), look for standpipes painted Sky Blue. These are specifically maintained by Wannon Water for public access.
