Gold Coast Warning: The Gold Coast City Council area (Coolangatta to Hope Island) is notoriously difficult for free dump points. There are almost zero free public points in the main tourist strip. You usually must pay to use a Caravan Park facility or drive north to Redland City (Capalaba).

Water Scarcity: In Western QLD (Outback), dump point rinse water is often non-potable (untreated). Do not fill your drinking tanks at these taps.

Crocodile Safety: In North QLD, many dump points are near boat ramps or creeks. Be "Croc Wise" when accessing these areas, especially at night.
