While the main attraction at Lightning Creek is undoubtedly the river—ideal for fishing, kayaking, and swimming in the warmer months—the area is also steeped in gold rush history. As a primitive bush camp, it offers basic facilities such as non-flush toilets and picnic tables. Campers must be fully self-sufficient, bringing their own drinking water and taking all their rubbish home.
